It's hard to believe, but this is my thirty-second year of teaching. Twenty-eight of those years have been right here at Ashton. In my teaching career, I have taught first through fifth grades in the regular ed classroom, in addition to technology and integrated language arts on the specials wheel to grades K-5. I have also taught technology to teachers and worked on school admin teams. This is my third year teaching Reach, and I love doing so. I am very dedicated to my work, especially my students, and enjoy the challenges and rewards of teaching second grade Reach. I love teaching at Ashton thanks to the delightful students, dedicated staff, and supportive families.
I live in Sarasota with my husband of 37 years and two dogs. My older daughter, Callyn, 30, is a clinical research administrator at the Epidemiology Center of USF in Tampa. My younger daughter, Ciarra, 27, graduated from U.W.F. in Pensacola with a degree in athletic training. After being in Oahu for three years, she now lives in San Antonio.. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family (especially my new granddaughter), pets (you've probably heard about Big Duke), going out on our boat, traveling (Hawaii and Paris are two of my favorite places), and working on my computer (usually researching new curriculum ideas).
